Meet the Main Characters of the Children of Adhiren Duology!
So you want to get to know some of my characters before you read the books? Fair enough. Below you will meet Vanessa, Alexander, Arimay, and Acara. They all play an important role in my books. Once you've gotten to know them, head over to the "Books" tab to learn more!
Vanessa Handeraz
Vanessa is the main character in The Necklace. She is an 11-year-old girl who enjoys daydreaming and playing with her friends. Her life is turned upside down when she learns that she is adopted, she is not living with her real parents, and her prized necklace is a gift her real father left for her before she was born. Vanessa plans to run away from her home and go on a quest to find her real father and discover who she really is.
Alexander Handeraz
Alexander is Vanessa's biological father. He lives in a city called Kalmehara and serves in King Aric's Army. When his wife Sarah was pregnant with their child (Vanessa), they had a fight. Sarah decided to leave him and stay with her friends in Leftrock Village. She would not see or speak to Alexander before the baby was born. Alexander left a necklace as a gift for his child. He asked that she be told about him some day, and hopes he will be able to meet her.
Arimay Radjani
Arimay is one of the youngest soldiers in Aric's Army when she joins at 10 years old. She came from a poor family in Galemoor and is hoping for a better, safer life. She is scared of just about everything, but improves in her training under the gentle guidance of Vanessa and her father. Arimay's presence in Aric's Army holds much greater significance than she initially realizes.
Acara
Acara is a Tigré: A magical creature that resembles a white Bengal tiger. She can fly, run faster than a horse, and speak to humans. Tigrés serve King Aric by surveying and guarding his kingdom from above. They help soldiers on their quests by offering rides through dangerous and difficult terrain. While they are generally friendly creatures, Tigrés are quite fierce when in combat.
